Has anyone used these cheques for their cross channel fery and French camping sites?

Are they valid all year or just off peak. £10.20 per night all in seems very good to me.

Cheers

I am new to the overseas game, only 2 seasons worth but I have found them to be excellent. They only work out of season. Most sites are very good (so far).

They last for 2 years. You get a book and the cheques. My only problem is the directions to the site. They can be rather vague, unlike Caravan Club directions. I have found it is not a bad idea to cross reference them with Caravan Europe directions.

The only additional cost maybe tourist tax, which is about a euro a night.

We have used camping cheques for the 1st time this year. We found it cheaper to book ferry & cheques through caravan club. Get quote from both. We also bought cheques direct from camping cheques for use in this country last week. You can only use them out of season.

We've been using Camping Cheques for ten years (since they started). Each site specifies dates when it will accept the cheques and this varies from site to site. We usually go late May/early June and again mid August/early September and find plenty of sites accepting Camping Cheques at that time. The advantage is that you don't have to book - so if you find somewhere doesn't suit you, you can always move on somewhere else. Check out the website http://www.campingcheque.co.uk/en/ - click on 'Our campsites' and select the country you fancy - each blob is a site which will accept Camping Cheques, and clicking on the blob brings up brief details, including the dates the site will accept the Cheques. There are some excellent sites - and you'll find that the price quoted by the site in low season is often a greal deal more than if you used Camping Cheques at the same site!

Just another mention of the Caravan Club - like the previous posting I always get quotes from both Camping Cheques direct, then from the Caravan Club, and have always found a better deal buying them and the ferry through the Caravan Club (sometimes quite a significant saving over the Camping Cheque website). You can either buy a package of ferry and cheques, or organise your ferry separately and just buy the cheques from either organisation.

I also have used camping cheques since they started. We always go abroad last two weeks in June & mid September so they work just fine for us. Always found them to be excellent value and a good saving. I used to buy the cheques direct and book ferries wherever I got the best deal but the last couple of years it has been cheaper to do the whole thing with CC.

I agree about the directions to site but I always plan my route seperately anyway. I know Christophe Gay [Owner of camping cheque] and I have mentioned this in the past.

The good thing is you know the standard of the sites before you go. I don't agree you never have to book though. More and more Brits are going abroad and there have been occasions where we have been on a site and they have put the "plein" sign out. Last June we were unable to get into Chateau de Gandspette on our way home. I now tend to email a site before I leave UK to check they have availability. When abroad a quick phone call to say we are coming usually avoids disappointment!!

Hi,

We too have used camping cheques for a number of years. As previously said out of season only.I've also found that they send through special offers at the latter end of the year. They now tend to use Dover /Dunkirk through Norfolk Line which we found fantastic. An example is
