Camping Gaz cooker/Calor Gas suitable?

Hi everyone,it's been quite a while since I've been on here, didn't like the change from the previous format. Also forgot my password, must be my age.
Anyhow the reason for this post is,are you able to use CALOR GAS /PROPANE in a CAMPING GAZ cooker, the reason that I'm asking is that I've found A brand new unused cooker in my attic, and I don't want to fork out for a camping gaz bottle at their rip off deposit prices.

It depends on what pressure the cooker is set to work on.
If it is set to run at 37mb, then Propane will be fine, and will be good for all year use.
If it is set to run at 28mb then Butane will be fine, for summer use.

You need to look at the data plate on the cooker and see what pressure it is capable of running on.

There is a possible further twist, Some camping gaz appliances were designed to directly attach to the bottle with no regulator. These are definitely BUTANE only, and as I recall the bottle connection would only fit camping gaz bottles

I am assuming its a low pressure appliance designed for use with Camping Gaz's own 28 mB regulator?
The "standard" general purpose camping regulator settings of 37mb for Propane and 28mb for Butane were determined so that an appliance could be used with very similar performance on either gas without a need to change the jets etc. The different pressures compensating for the different energy in the two gases.
Therefore it should follow that your Camping Gaz unit will operate satisfactory on a Propane cylinder provided its fitted with a standard 37 mb [generally painted red] regulator. The performance might be slightly different but satisfactory.
