Hello all

Could anyone advise me on the following. We have just had a new bailey ranger, we are going to france for a lengthy stay and we need to use camping gaz. The question is what do we need to attach the 907 cylinder to the regulator housed in the gas box?

eg hose, adapter, regulator or what? We have a hose as supplied by the dealer for calor butane which fits.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Chris, the 907 gas bottle needs a regulator which screws directly on to the top of the cylander. I take that you have a bulkhead mounted regulator and a connection hose for a Calor butane bottle attached. Try a company called Gaslow to see if they make an aapter to run a 907 bottle through your regulator

Cheers Rick

I am in a similar situation. Am from Australia and slowly coming to terms with all the different types of bottle sizes and availability in the UK and Europe. Just doing a van fitout myself and considering the new bottles for their capacity, weight, ease of conversion with new reg's and location of filling sites etc.

Just emailed the BP about the lightweight gas bottles about which mainland countries are going to stock them, suitability, regulators etc etc. They said their tech adviser is away till Tuesday 27th, but should hear something by then and I'll let you know when I hear something.

cheers Rod

Hi Chris,

just picked up your posting.

We have a new 2007 Bailey van with a bulk head mounted regulator. All you need is a pig tail and camping gaz adaptor. This allows you to use Calor over here and their replacement bottles, but if you run out in France switch the pig tail to the Camping Gaz version and its adaptor and you will be O.K.

We tend to run on propane calor due to going out when the weather gets close to or below freezing and use a 907 camping gaz if its higher temps for the Cadac BBQ, but when in France we know if we run out of calor by changing the pig tail we can run on camping gaz which you can get no problem in France on a exchage basis.

Hello Rob,

Thanks for your reply. Excuse my ignorance but what is a pig-tail?

Chris
