Campsite for new year

Hi everyone we are in East Sussex and would like to go away for this New Year. Can anyone help us find a freindly site with atleast a pub within walking distance or facilities on site ie clubhouse. Preferably in the south of England.

hi richard sorry to be negative but most sites are booked up for new year by the summer. my sister went last year and booked for this year in june. it is becoming more popular now. perhaps you could ask if any one knows where you might find a space.

good luck .

We have just booked up for new year at Honeybridge Camp Site 01403 710923 in West Sussex.

They have no clubhouse but for new year they are having a American supper with a disco and bring your own drink.

Not sure how near a pub is, they have a web site.

Try Golden Coast at Woolacombe Bay. This site is open all year and has a club and other facilities. The pub on the edge of the site (The Old Mill) is great in summer and I can imagine it's cosy in the depths of winter. have a great time wherever you end up! Hope this helps, Manda.

Richard, we have used the Chertsey CCC site at new year (and at other times and will be spending Xmas here this year). The site is right by the river. They have a clubhouse on site and arrange events. However, when we went we went to the Bridgehouse hotel / pub, which is just outside the gates, whee they had an enjoyable dinner dance. Just over the other side of the bridge is another pub, the Kingfisher. There is also a pleasant alk along the river (ideal if you have a dog) to Shepperton Lock where there is a pub.

Might be a bit close to home -but ever thought of Sheepcote Valley CC site at Brighton? Very popular all year, hardstanding pitches in a green valley on the edge of town, and an easy walk or bus into town/marina etc, and you can never be short of things to do in Brighton! It may be booked up (I booked a while ago), but worth a call 01273-626546. Enjoy wherever you go anyway! Cheers. Richard.

Try Hoburne Bashley (addy is on the net( http://www.hoburne.com/park_bashley_events.cfm )Southampton/Portsmouth way. Think they have spaces left and bar and pool (also most other facilities are open) but the tickets for the new years celebration have all gone so no bar that night. Guessing that a few of us are going to be in that position so maybe a few of us "vanners" can gather in an awning somewhere and have some fun anyway!
