Hi Carol.
Check that you have it connected to the regulator correctly. And when you turn the cylinder on can you smell gas? If so then you have a leak.

What is your gas set up? Do you have a bulkhead regulator fitted or the regulator on the gas bottle, bottle in or out of the front locker

The red one, thats the one we have changed to and it was covered in frost half way up the side. No gas came through at all not even to the cooker. Any ideas?

Have you also fitted a propane regulator?

Hello Carol,

Propane bottles will happily supply enough gas for a caravan in temperatures down to –30C.
The frosting on a bottle only occurs when gas is being used. It is the remaining the liquefied gas in the bottle that tries to drag heat from the atmosphere to enable it to boil the liquid to produce the gas vapour we use. (its just the same process that is used in refrigerators) The frost line indicates the level of the liquid in the bottle. The faster you use the gas the more frost you will get

So the fact that you have a definitive frost line, tells us that gas is being used or lost somewhere. If your appliances are not working then you must have a leak and that must be sorted for your safety. Turn off the gas and call in a competent fitter to investigate.
Both Propane and Butane gas is heavier than air, so it could be collecting under your caravan.
