Cancelled Caravan Club Booking !

This may not be the correct forum but I wonder if anyone else has experienced bookings no longer showing on the "My Bookings" section of the web site and being informed by the club that they have been cancelled.

We have an important booking for the festive period and noticed it was not showing on line, an email and subsequent telephone call on;y brings the response that we had cancelled - certainly not.

The booking was made eleven months ago when the new booking system was in its infancy - perhaps the cause?

Wanderer their was a problem with the new booking system in its infancy where it cancelled all bookings if you trawl through last years posts you should find out what the problem was.

If l remember correctly according to the club it was corrected, l kept a check on mine and sure enough they were but l am sure some had problems.

Hope this helps, try the moderators they maybe able to find the posts.

Many thanks Nigel, will keep rattling cages and see what develops.

Will update the situation as soon as I manage to get a definite response from the club.

It is my understanding that the caravan club made some updates to it's computer system. The new booking reference is not the same as the old, and the the new system apparently doesn't identify the original booking number.

You would be wise to check this out with the club by telephone.I'm sure the problem will be quickly resolved.

I only know about this, after being told by a site warden.

this happend last year if you all remember and it was to do with the new booking system. check with the actual site and ring head office on monday and speak to the on line bookings dept and the people who design the net system.

keep us posted. im of now to check mine.

Many thanks for the comments/suggestions, have again spoken to the club and they are still insisting that the booking was cancelled although they can't tell me when. I have asked them again to confer with the IT side of things and to provide me with proof of a cancellation - will not be waiting to long before I am on the telephone again.

As I have never cancelled a booking before I made a booking today and then immediately went through the cancellation procedure to find out what was involved, not a single click operation so no chance it was a slip of the mouse (not that I was in any doubt)

However this all turns out we have had our festive trip ruined and knowing the site in question absolutely no chance of last minute availability.

My problem with booking is that take for example Sandringham site people book Friday/saturday for a whole month which means

you cant have a decent week before having to move on. The club

must lose money on this because I have had to find a commercial site in the end on more than one occasion.

So consequently the site is empty between Sun/Thurs

Hi Wanderer

I'm now able to log on to the CC website after a few problems at the weekend and have just checked our booking for Christmas.

I booked Sandringham on 13th January and it is still showing as ok online, although it does have a new booking reference number. Maybe I should ring the site to check though?

Hope you manage to get yours sorted out.

Julie if you read above the list of your bookings in the My Club area of the website it states

Please note that due to the changes we have made to our booking service all UK Site bookings made prior to Sunday 22 March will now have new booking references as you will see in the list of bookings below. This is nothing to worry about and all sites will still be able to find your bookings when you check in on site or call to make amendments and cancellations

Maybe it will save you the phone call !!
