I posted about our car insurance by saving over £220 renewing early before it expired. Now our breakdown insurance came in £30 more than last year , not claimed for years now. Went on the usual .com people and found some were ridiculous low price others like RAC quoting like a car insurance price . Finally went on same company and conditions we already have and saved £50 but by doing it on line and three weeks early. Words fail me .

Breakdown insurance is not subject to the new rules so the increase looks to be purely co incidental. If you are towing a caravan though do check exactly what the cheaper options cover, you need cover for if the caravan breaks down which some exclude and the specialist ones from the club do give a lot more cover like double recovery. My feeling is that breakdown cover is cheap enough to mean trying to save a few pounds is not worth the risk.

I do agree with you but the policy we have covers car and caravan . The new one taken out is as said same company same conditions but a big saving . For the caravan ,I had to call them out to rectify a problem several years ago.
