About a week ago we visited Casablanca, albeit only for the day (on a cruise) our insurance company classed Morocco as a European destination for health purposes. When you go don't go anywhere near the centre of Casablanca with a caravan in tow as they are digging up the centre to install a new tramway!!

Don't the company doing the 'escorting' give you that sort of information. That would be my first 'port-of-call' and if they can't help then I 'd think seriously about just how good a job they might make of the escorting! Surely that basic sort of information is exactly what they should be able to help with.

The company I am thinking of using is the same one that does the C&CC tour, and while they are happy to answer any questions most info & specifications on what is needed/required would be sent once a booking is confirmed. However before I do that I feel I need to know a lot more & in particuler any possible downfalls I might encounter,& indeed to enable me to total all possible costs involved . Allthough the company state they have had car caravan units on their trips with no problems I would like to hear from some one who has personal experiance so to speak

We spent a month in Morocco last winter. Our car insurance covers Europe but we needed a green card for Morocco. This just meant giving the insurance company dates and was provided free of charge. Our annual travel insurance covers Morocco. We had Green flag Europe breakdown cover but I can't really remember the details. I do remember reading somewhere that in Morocco you would have to get the problem fixed and claim later. We had a wonderful time. Here is a link to our travel blog if you are interested. http://www.travelpod.co.uk/travel-blog/travellin.light/2/tpod.html

Thankyou for your replies, We have done the deed & booked a 23 day tour with Desert Detoures for march 20012
now the decisions. we live 45 min from Dover & allready have a booked & paid for a crossing with Norfolk lines using their NEC offer.
I am debating whether to maybe to use portsmouth/Plymouth to Bilbao /Santander routes instead.I am wondering whether whether they would offer any advantage Finantial or time wise over a 1500 mile drive down to Ceuta spain.
bearing in mind either of these routes involve driving a minimum of 110 miles driving to portsmouth?????

we actually intend to be away for 6 weeks in total
