Caravan Battery

Hi all hope someone out there can help me.I bought a Bailey Burgandy caravan at the end of last season and have not been away in it yet.My question is can i run all the equipment off mains electric including water pump without having a battery installed? Many thanks for any help.

No you can't run the electric pump off the mains because it is 12v only. The mains sockets in the van where lamps etc can be plugged in work from the main elerctricity supply, some lights will also work from this. Other things in the van need 12v from a battery. These will be the water pump and certain lights. The fridge will run off mains(240v), 12v (battery) or gas. The battery charger needs 240v to charge the battery.

You will need a battery to get full use of everything in your van.

Hope this helps.

Graeme.
