Hi
We own an Adria 542 DT and carpets did not come as standard with our caravan
We have now had the caravan for one season, and was thinking of putting carpet in the caravan.
At the moment, I have removable runners which are a pain because they keep moving, kids keep tripping over them despite putting a non-slip backing onto them.
Can anyone recommend anywherw to have caravan carpets made, or I was thinking of buying some nice carpet tiles and having them fitted. I am a bit worried as wondered whether this would have any effect with regards to damp and mould in the winter months when it is in storage.

Any advice as always would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Sam

A fairly inexpensive option might be to go round to a carpet supplier and look for a hessian backed good quality offcut or roll end that would suit your caravan. Make cardboard templates of the sizes and shapes that you want, cut the roll end to the same sizees and shapes and ask the carpet supplier to sew an edge on the cut pieces.(they normally have large carpet overlocking machines). You will then have a set of drop in carpets which you can take up in bad weather or muddy conditions.

Our caravan has a removeable carpet, and at each 'corner' on the underside of the carpet is a small velcro square, about an inch across. On the floor are stuck two similar pieces of the other half of the velcro - tucked away into the corners, so they don't get under your feet is the carpet isn't down. Our van is now 10 years old, and the carpet comes in and out regularly, depending on where we're staying (hot country, out comes the carpet, cold country back it goes!). The velcro still works and keeps the carpet in place without any problem. Our carpet is one shaped piece, bound at the edges as Parksy suggests. Here in the North of England there are plenty of places that will bind the edges with a special hessian tape or overlock the edges for you.
