Hi.
Due to collect our 2015 Bailey Unicorn Cadiz next Wednesday and have decided to treat ourselves to a new tv.
It will be fixed(with a quick mount) bracket and it will sit behind the tall fridge on a folding bracket.
Are these Cello tv's any good?
Were not looking for anything with "bells and whistles",just something to watch breakfast news and for wifey for her soaps🙈
Wont need 12v just 240 mains
Probably looking at a 22-24 inch screen.

Made in Newcastle-customer service has been decent from what Ive read-and for the price don't think you can go wrong if you want a basic tv.Nothing outstanding though so if you want decent have a look at lg or samsung 22" tvs which can be had around £120 .

Currys have a good selection-22 or 24" for 120 or less-just make sure you buy a tv not a monitor-no tuner on the monitor!

Thank you.
Would I have to make sure its slim enough to fit on the "swinging arm"bracket.
I suppose once the arms out,its just a case of lifting the tv up to it and engage it with the quick release bracket.
Weve only used a free standing tv in caravan.
This is all new to me.

Exactly-ours is a Samsung(don't think they are made any more-more profit on bigger TVs) 22" and we pull the arm out and slide it over- vision 2 joint arm-but a 3 joint arm would move further out if we had been worried-thinking that far ahead-happily it's fine!

Many thanks for your help.
I know we dont collect the van till next Wednesday but im just trying to get everything sorted before we go away the following Tuesday.
At our storage site, there are 6 pitches for Camping and Motorhome club members with water and electric.
Sounds daft(although I will get a nights peace)🤭 Ive booked one of these pitches for the Friday night to try everything out.(Alde heating..never had that before.Water and gas system.TV etc)
It would just be nice to pull up on site on the Tuesday and know what does what..lol.
Thanks again
And Beachball

We have just bought a LG-28TN525S 28" TV and it is brilliant. It is a Smart HD TV so has Prime, Neflix, Disney apps etc. Bought from Richer Sounds for £189.00 and comes with a 6 year warranty.

Love Richersounds-sometimes the shops are a bit trickier to get to but most of my hifi and tv buys come from there and the warranty unlike some is superb-and good value-one of the few occasions I do take extended warranty out. VERY sensible to do a local break to sort out the van before trekking off-that's what we did with all of our (3 in total now)caravan purchase. Liky you this is our first Alde system-still not sure i may be mising something with the timer/day /night mode but works nicely for us.

If you are always on a hook up any make and model will work. We use an old Hitachi that performs perfectly well. On a hook up the only limitation is the signal strength which has no bearing to the subject here.

I made a post some time ago about Avtex TVs (Click Here) and my purchase of a Cello (Ferguson branded) TV; but my salient post is quoted below:

Edit: The TV is a 22" Full HD TV/DVD combi, 12V model (Freeview - No satellite decoder) purchased direct from Cello via: https://fergusontv.com/

So for the curious here is an update on my experience. For obvious reasons the Ferguson/Cello TV has not had much (read any) use this year, but 2019 was quite a good year for touring nights. We use the TV on the stand, not wall mounted due to having no suitable mounting position. So it sits on a ledge where the TV points are [by the habitation door] so from the front lounge, it is at the perfect viewing height.

Screen quality and sound are perfectly adequate for the caravan: HD channels look good, SD channels look "ok" and sound is loud enough without resonating outside the caravan. The limited PVR (recording) functions were rarely used as it appears to only be able to record the channel you are watching. Pausing works ok, but my expectations were tempered when comparing to a dedicated device. Overall very happy with it. I have even used it as a second monitor for my laptop when I 'worked from home' in the caravan.

Issues:
1) The remote control issue was fixed by a replacement handset.
2) The viewing angle: Fine if you are sitting down with TV at eye-level, but the picture cannot be seen if you standing (for example when cooking) over the screen.
3) DVD Player: We had a stay at a Caravan Club site which had zero phone and TV reception, we did not have a cable to connect to the TV point on the bollard, so watched DVDs we took with us. The player refused to play some disks and would only play half (stalled at layer-change) of others. Once again Cello customer services fixed this very quickly: they sent a courier to collect the TV and replaced the DVD unit, which fixed the problem.

With the TV now out of warranty should it break again, I may eat my words and have to fall back on "Buy cheap, buy twice" but we travel with the TV in the car wrapped in a custom made protective sleeve [thick bubble wrap and Gorilla Tape!] placed behind the drivers seat, so we look after it as much as possible and hope it lasts.

Im going to try our JVC 24" first.
Not sure if the weight will be ok for the arm/bracket though.
If its ok.....brilliant.
If not....time for some searching.
The wife said she wouldnt mind it being situated on the fixed pull out table in the front window but im not so sure, plus I cant remember if theres an ariel socket there.
Will have to wait and see next week🤔

We have a 28" LG on the front chest of drawers and it suits us. You can still pull out the table without having to remove the TV.

If you use a TV bracket it will have a weight limit on it, so if you have the instructions that come with it you can check any TV you use is withing this. Do make sure the mounting onto the caravan is strong enough as well though.

Hello,
I don't suppose the internals are very much different from any other TV,watch you don't get a sore neck watching it!

I think I know what you mean.
I dont collect van until Wednesday, but looking at the pictures of an identical van,I think the ideal point for the tv would be on the right hand side as you enter the van.
I would imagine fixing it there though may involve moving the tall fridge out to bring the leads through to hide them behind tv once its in place.
Im not sure if using the folding bracket the other side of fridge, will be a bit too far away.
Oh well....roll on Wednesday when I pick it up.🤔

I ordered a Cello tv through Amazon. The positive was the weight which was good. Negatives were the sound and picture quality. Returned it within a week. Personally I think there are much better TV's about for not a lot more money.
