Hi there, we are new to caravanning and recently bought a 5 berth elddis cyclone, my parents have a bailey pageant.

We have decided to site the elddis on the lower Wensleydale CC site for the whole 2006 season (any comments on this site appreciated) for both my parents and my family and I to use

on alternative weekends. Both my parents and I have joined the CC to do this, however we hope to use my parents bailey van odd weekends else where possibly at other CC sites, Will the CC allow us to do this as our membership has our elddis van registered for the seasonal pitch,or are you restricted to using only one caravan per membership subscription. Many Thanks Andrew

I can't see why you should have any difficulty using another caravan as you are the member not the caravan.

I have never been asked caravan details such as make/model when booking a site nor have I felt the need to inform the club when changing caravan mid-season.

You should have no problems using a different caravan on any site. When you call to make a reservation the site managers usually only ask the length of the van not the make. It is important, however, to make sure you have a correct number plate on your unit.

Hi

I am sure the CC book and members info says family members are allowed to use your van under your membership, or in your case your parents van for you

AS you say you are members of the club and will have no problems. However you should tell the touring site you have a seasonal pitch at another site as this will show up in the computer booking system.

I do not believe family members are allowed to use the parents card but a family membership card is available at extra cost.

If in doubt phone the CC for advice.

We pitched our van on a CL for friends of ours who wanted a w/e break. Made it all quite clear to the site owner who did not seem to mind at all. At the end of their stay we went back had a cuppa then packed it all away - no problems.

Was well out of peak season tho'

Caravan Club joint membership is available at no charge for "another adult (17yrs+) related to you, and living at the same address and sharing the same outfit". Other family members can apply for a chargeable family membership under the same terms.

You CAN'T simply claim family membership just because parents and/or children are members of the club and family membership doesn't cover the use of more than one outfit.
