My name is Tom and I work for a UK independent production company called Monkey. To tie in with the centenary celebrations of the caravan club, we are currently developing a documentary series for ITV celebrating caravans, and people who love caravan holidays. We desperately want to talk to people about what they enjoy about caravanning and any good stories or anecdotes people might have. If anyone out there is interested let me know!

Thanks,

Tom

We used to be members of the Caravan Club and regularly toured in the UK. Since last September we've been living in our caravan in France whilst we build our dream house - would our experiences be of interest to you?

I can't imagine a documentary on the joys of caravanning would be compulsive viewing for the ITV audience - far better for the viewing figures to make fun of us I should think.

Remember the 1994 documentary on Northwood Golf Club?

Knowing of some negative experiences re dealing with TV production companies can I be as bold to ask who "Monkey" are exactly.

"Tom" and "Monkey" are not exactly a glowing introduction, what is your track record Tom and that of your companies. Lets have a proper introduction to your company and the series blueprint and guidelines.

The Caravan Club is mentioned, but are they supporting the planned series and what is the slant of the series. Is it going to show a balanced positive veiw of our interest or will it have Clarksonesque caravanners are "Sad Anoraks" under tones.

With the CC's 100th anniversary and with thousands of members surely they could provide what Tom is looking for.

I would also not trust any media company without having a water tight contract that had been checked by a lawyer.

Hi all, here's a bit about Monkey:

Monkey is one of the most exciting television companies in the UK and is building a strong reputation as producers of groundbreaking TV. Since the beginning of 2001, Monkey has produced a wide range of programmes in the genres of comedy and entertainment as well as high quality factual programming. Projects include a slate of thought-provoking documentaries for terrestrial and satellite channels: including Surviving the Wave: A Thailand Story, an authored piece looking at what happened in the wake of the Tsunami.

Furthermore - there is no need to worry about us portraying anyone in a negative light. All I am looking for are great stories from the world of caravans and interesting people to tell those stories. I am not interested in showing caravan enthusiasts to be "sad anoraks" (your phrase not mine) and would rather find people who smash this stereotype with their wit, personality and wealth of interesting stories.

If you would be willing to talk to me then please e-mail on tomb@monkeykingdom.com
