Caravan electrics help needed

Hi, i have a problem with the 240 supply in my caravan. A toaster was plugged in and developed a fault and The mains supply light went off. When i take the 2amp 240 supply fuse out, the mains light comes on, but when i replace it, the mains light goes out, the fuse appears to be ok. It seems as though there is a problem with the plug circuit, and connecting the plug supply via the fuse trips it off. There are two plugs, and both are affected. The fuses in the zig are all ok. Does anyone know how i can get the thing working again, thanks, Tom.

You do not give any details as to the age of the van

if it is relatively new then the main incoming box will have two MCB's on for power and one for lights

It would appear that the toaster has a fault and has tripped the power MCB when you remove the fuse you can restore supply to the system. if the toaster is faulty you may be tripping the ELCB. if you are not sure what you are doing have a qualified electrician to look at it.
