Hi all I have a swift challenger sport i have had it stored in the same position for 2 months, I moved it on sunday to find it has developed flat spots should i get two new tyres or will the problem sort itself out?

Are the tyre pressures correct. I wouldn't have expected tyres to develop flat areas in only two months. Personally I would check pressures, revolve the tyres and await developments.

How old are the tyres?

If in doubt chuck em out and buy new . The tyres are the only point of contact with the road so IMO they must at all times be in perfect A1 condition

33 days ago you were fitting your status-550 to your Abbey
24 days ago you were wanting to fitt shock-absorbers to your Abbey
5 days ago you had trouble with your powrtouch-motormover on your new van
4 days ago your battery was battery-fizzing on your new van

Not bad 33 days two vans but tyres now have flat spots..........
Sell up & buy a tent you won't have any flat spot's then

While I can't condone Mr Sprocket's outburst there appears to be some inconsistencies in comments that you have made at times Abbey Owner.

When was the van last properly serviced?
How old are the tyres?
What pressure is in them?

It is most unusual to find flat spots on tyres stood for 2 months, or even 6 months if they are correctly inflated.

I thought the Swift Challenger Sport was only launched last October, so the tyres can not be a year old yet,I wouldn't expect flat spots after 2 months.

ok ok the reason I bought the abbey was to do as a restoration project but it got too neglected so I gave it to a breakers yard where I decided to buy a swift challenger.

Whatever you say Abbey Owner. I wouldn't have thought that an Abbey Vogue 2 which was first unveiled by Swift in 2008 would have needed much restoration but hey ho, perhaps it had been neglected more than is usual for a caravan which could only between 3 and 4 years old at the most.
Abbey production was discontinued at the end of 2008 although the brand was still available from caravan dealerships for a year or so afterwards.

Where is this breakers yard that contains such recent examples of Swift Group products, presumably they are insurance write offs, flood damage etc,and don't forget the Abbey had a service to it's undercarriage on a Sunday,

Our new Abbey Vogue 495 was written off as a total loss in the flooding of 2007 when it was just three months old.
I was present when the breakers who had bought the caravan from the insurers came to collect it and they were very interested in how much water had been inside the caravan and for how long.
The water inside our caravan was 4" deep, the upholstery, cooker, heater and most of the working parts were brand new but I got the distinct impression that these breakers were hoping to clean the floor thoroughly and re-sell the caravan complete.
After the water, which almost certainly contained sewage, receded there was an awful smell and hundreds of small flies inside the caravan so I pity anybody who bought it afterwards.

I think that Seth was trying to offer you some support Abey Owner.

Ok folks, we've all had a bit of a laugh but it's time for us to lay off now, because although some of the previous postings may be confusing or appear contradictory nobody should have to justify everything that they write on a forum.

If the water is contaminated and all outside sources of water are deemed contaminated, then there is considered no residule value in the goods, ie your van. In this case, the breaker was probably paid rather than paying to take it away and fully dispose of it, safely. In short 'CAT A' total loss, no useable parts.
So and strictly against the rules, he was working out what could reasonably be salvaged rather than thinking he could save the whole van.
