Ok, OK, I know that we should get away from technology when we are caravanning, but with darker evenings approaching we are thinking of a couple of weeks in the Lake District. We haven't been there for 30 or more years.
We'd like a smaller informal site near to one of the lakes but we do want to watch some TV in the evening and have reasonable WiFi for business and family contacts.
Can anyone give us any suggestions, please?
We are an older, retired couple who enjoy a gentle walk, but are not into fell walking......
We would appreciate any suggestions.

We have used Irton House Farm with views over Bassenthwaite and fells. Nice walking in the area that suits more gentle style.

We use to like Troutbeck head club campsite Troutbeck Penrith the caravan park nestles in a valley long side a brook we found it great for a nice walk

We got TV at Troutbeck Head but the phone signal was missing. Sounds more like you want a CL or CS if you are in either of the clubs and if boking I would just ask about this when booking.

We were finding sites booked up for our dates, so have grabbed a pitch at Caravan Club site Borrowdale to get us going. That site has no facilities, but no problem for us.

that will cover the northern lakes and am no looking at sites near Windermere area for the second stop.

Thanks for all help.

There are repeater transmitters at Whitehaven, Coniston, Keswick, and Windermere (Freeview Lite), and in the south in parts you can get Lancaster or Winter Hill and up north you can get Caldbeck again in places.
Windermere Tx is actually across the lake from the town, almost above the ferry quay, easily visible.
Coniston is east of the lake and about ESE of the town, again easily visible.
Keswick is at Castlerigg SE of the town.
Whitehaven is actually WSW of a village called Bigrigg a couple of miles S of the town.
There are quite a few other relays but these will cover some of the main tourist areas.
