Caravan Lengths

I'm a bit of a newcomer, as you're about to see, so apologies for the stupid question.

Does the manufacturers official caravan length include the bit at the front that connects to the tow bar ? Or is it just the length of actual van itself they measure ?

Overall length or Shipping length is the length from tow hitch to the back of the van

And then most quote the internal length of the caravan body.
