Good morning all. Last outing i had a slight issue with my caravan lights, the complete offside wouldn't work at all.

A little wiggle and in and out with plug and lights worked.

Before i head to storage site is there any obvious things i should check earths etc.

I will obviously check the 13 pin plug wiring and must remember to take my specs with me lol.

Ps car wiring and socket is all good tested and working fine . Caravan is swift challenger 625se 2015.

The problem could be due to dirt or something on the connections of one of the plugs. Wiggling it might have taken enough off to get it working but I would check both and clean up anything on them.

The nearside and offside road lighting circuits feeds are normally separate, so poor contact in the connector plug can easily result in failure of lighting on one side. It might be just corrosion, but depending on the type of plugs and sockets connecting to the car some use split pins or receivers that can relieve with usage, they may need to be adjusted to ensure a good contact.

It would also be worth checking the fight fittings on the caravan, as corrosion can start inside them, and compromise the operation of the lights.

Invest in a can of “Electrical Contact Spray”.
Remove and refix all bulbs connectors etc spraying as you go.
The ECS cleans and re etches the contact surfaces. If that doesn’t work you need to trace the wiring further back.
