Caravan not draining

Hi,
caravan is not draining when we pack up,we have a lunar 574 with truma combi heater.
I presume it is either the yellow drain valve or the drain valve on the truma heater.
is there anyway of testing to see which one it is
cheers kb

I would presume it is the yellow drain tap in the 'up' position then open all the taps to between hot and cold and let gravity do the rest!
I might be over-cautious but I always allow the hot water heater to cool before draining and setting off. - and in any event it saves any scorching if on a grass pitch!

In a previous van, the yellow drain valve was a bit tetchy. You had to move it slowly and you would find a bite point at which it would drain. Had to hold it there until it drained. Don’t know what the problem was but as there was a workable solution I lived with it.

Hope it’s just blocked and can be easily remedied for you - googled a replacement and found them to be getting on for £45!

Thanks everyone, tried opening taps and draining ok,never did this before though
This should be done every time the caravan is put into storage especially over the winter when water in the pipes can freeze and burst a pipe or damage a tap.

Some years ago we forgot to lift the taps up on the sink and the Shower on our caravan in storage in winter but never again because we had a problem with the shower it had to be replaced

I tend to blow through the water system in the winter after each time out it takes about 15 minutes but will save having a pipe bursting .

Yep we do the same using the shower tube. I know I have a big mouth, but I do remove the shower head first! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Mine is exactly the same it won’t drain unless when I open the drain tap then immediately open the kitchen hot tap. Done it from new. Lunar Quasar.

You need to open the taps on hot to drain boiler otherwise a vacuum could form making emptying the boiler a long wait.

Basically open everything. You have to allow air in to allow gravity to pull the water out. In some systems, depending on how the caravan manufacturer designs the layout, it helps to either blow air through the taps, or to suck at the drain points. There are kits to help do this.
