Caravan seat covers

Hi guys, over the years we have always covered our seats with throws, blankets etc. However I have now discovered these from E Bay

They come in various sizes and colour ways and are reversible. So far so good, they are waterproof, wash and dry really easily. Hope this might help some of you.

I hate to have to throw cold water on your suggestion, but we binned ours and bought four of the single bed Teddy fleece thermal covers for our front bunks. Worked a treat as they actually stay in place using bed sheet clips.

Never used them in the caravan but use them at home where they work a treat. They also go with us if we are going to stay away on holiday. In the caravan we had mattress protectors over the front seating plus good quality cotton throws.

We never use them in our caravan I think we preferred throws on front seats

Personally I can see no point at all in covering seats with throws UNLESS you have dogs AND permit them to get onto the seats.

Other than that the seats are upholstered in durable material to match the rest of the decor, so why cover them up?
Serious question rather than "having a dig"
Perhaps a throw user would care to explain the rational behind using them to me? Is it similar to those who always remove their onboard carpets so any subsequent owner rather than they, gets the benefit?

When we had a dog and grandchildren ( of the small and sticky variety) in the van, covers were essential. We used throws and judging by the muck that got on them, they were needed. Now that it is mainly the two of us, they are no longer used but would be deployed if the aforementioned grandchildren visited.
On FB folks seem to sing the praises of Shein for seat covers although my daughter got some for her sofa at home and said they were rubbish.

Irrespective of whether we had dogs or not the caravan carpets would always be taken up and loose cotton machine washable mats used. Easier to clean when on trips and being washable they could be easily freshened up when at home. If caravans came with the option of not having carpets then that’s what I’d opt for anyway.

Surely it is up to the individual to do what they like to do with their caravan? We always had covers on our front bunk seats because it was our choice.

We had just had the front seats reupholstery with new covers and use to put throws on for our dogs, in case they came up .

Surely it is up to the individual to do what they like to do with their caravan? We always had covers on our front bunk seats because it was our choice.

Of course it is, and I never said anything different did I?
I was just curious as to why people use throws UNLESS as I stated tjey have dogs (or small children) in which case throws make perfect sense.

Again my specific query was in regards to the use of throws, not carpets. I just mentioned carpets as I know some like to take them up (as you do) Indeed we do the same, but only if it's warm and sunny, or very dusty.

So thanks for your response, but it doesn't answer my original question regarding throws.

We're just looking into this as we now have Noodle and 6 months old she's keen to leap onto seats when she thinks we're not looking!



Back in 2002 we bought our first brand new caravan, a Sterling Eccles Jewel which had a kind of green/gold check-pattern on the upholstery. Within 2 years it had faded to the point where you could no longer see the green so I understand protecting upholstery from fading. Ever since then we've closed the curtains when not using the caravan which works well. Unfortunately the Sterling didn't have curtains, only net curtains and I didn't want to leave the blinds closed for long periods.

Ours has the three seater Ercol plus two recliners, plus two IKEA POANG rockers, then there’s her crate and two dog beds.
I will watch Chelsea Flower Show Monty Dons garden for dogs as it’s unlikely to be compatible with a Sprocker. 😂
