Caravan Servicing - do I have to empty my van?

We're about to have our caravan serviced for the first time and hope this doesn't seem like a daft question but do we have to take everything out? We're also having an extra couple of spotlights fitted at the same time (bottled out of doing them ourselves) so we know we'll have to empty the lockers around the places where the new lights are going but do we need to take everything else out too? If we do it will be a real chore but we'd rather do it now than when the engineer turns up. It wouldn't be so bad if we were at the end of our caravanning season but we're going away for half term week on the weekend following the planned service.

Thanks in anticipation.

I take enough out to ensure they can access all areas they need to, for the damp test this means making sure top lockers are not stuffed.

Reading your question I am left thinking the engineer is coming to you? If that's not the case and you are taking the van to them then my advise is to leave a gas cylinder in the front to have plenty of nose weight for safe towing. It helps them test the system anyway.

Sorry JTQ we didn't make that clear. Yes we're having a mobile engineer come to us. Thanks for your reply, was about what we expected. Cheers.

Claire and Rob,

Give the engineer a phonecall. He will be able to tell you exactly what to remove and which areas need to be empty. If you cannot speak to the engineer direct, give his company a ring.
