Could not believe my eyes when emailed Swift to find out how much extra shelves would be for our 2010 Challenger 570 - £40 each plus VAT!!! So, we decided to buy the cheapest pack of laminate flooring we could find (matched up colour of existing shelf) and my OH has glued two together, and now we have six extra shelves that until you look closely, you wouldn't believe weren't supplied by Swfit and all the price of a bit of wood glue and £11.49! Others may well have already found this solution to shelving problem but we are thrilled as we've effectively doubled our storage in lockers.

As an aside - why oh why don't manufacturers just sell you the caravan with all the shelves fitted in the beginning - surely this would be a good selling point?

Because if they did that they'd lose the opportunity to sell the shelves to less resourceful people at £40+vat

Anything which is designated 'caravan' is sold with a massive mark up, well done for saving yourselves some money and passing on the tip.

To my eternal shame I found a 'caravan cutlery tray' on fleabay for £7.99 duly paid for and received.

Went to Attwoolls last week where identical cutlery tray was for sale at £2.99 and then for £1.99 in Go Outdoors! Not happy - lesson learnt. Do not put caravan into search engine as the £'s just add up!
