Caravan site booking

Ten years ago I would hook up drive to a town I wanted to be near. Then I would look for a site and get straight in. Today even if I try and book a week in advance decent sites are full.

I know caravanning is getting bigger but I have not noticed this ammount of growth.
 
I know what you mean. We seem to have almost stopped going away in the UK. Unless we are going somewhere for a week, we never seem to get ourselves organised far enough in advance. I thought caravanning was all about spur of the moment and catching the good weather!
 
We never have a problem as we tend to use a lot of CLs. Many Caravan Parks are no longer value for money, but are expensive and over rated. I vote with my feet!
