Hi everyone,
We would be very grateful for any suggestions for a campsite convenient for the Bilbao ferry, please.
We have a sailing at 10.30am on a Tuesday, so want to be only a short drive away.
I tried a search in the forum, but no recent results appeared.

Thanks

For the Tuesday morning Bilbao sailing you can check-in on the Monday afternoon between 1600hrs and 1900hrs (there are waiting lanes before check-in, and they often start earlier).
You can then spend the night (free) at the port. The majority of caravans/motorhomes do this. They start processing you through passport control / security from 0800hrs onwards.
Security in the overnight lanes appears good - thorough checks for any stow-aways in the morning!!

OK, thanks, that's useful info - I think we might have done that many years ago.
However, this time we are thinking of staying a couple of nights before the ferry (to do a bit of exploring / last minute wine buying), so were really looking for a regular campsite near-ish to the ferry terminal......
Thanks

Thanks.
With check in at 9am latest we'd really like to be a bit closer - so we can spend time in Balbao the day before as well. Have done some research and found a site called Camping de Castro - Barrio Campijo, 65, 39700 Castro Urdiales which is about 30 minutes away. Has anyone else stayed there?
