Not a CL type site (do they exist in France ?) but we stayed at Camping de Cognac (http://www.campingdecognac.com) for a week last September & would use it again when in the area.
Thanks for your reply. I'll have a look at Camping de Cognac. There are a few CL type sites in France with are usually owned by British people but I haven't found anything yet in the right area.
Have been to the camping deCognac site it is one of our favourites it is at the side of the river giving good walks the pitches are nearly all large and prices reasonable .It is about 2 miles outside Cognac which makes it easy to tour this loveley town would definately recommend it
Have a look on the Bienvenue a la Ferme website - you can find farms with camping throughout France - and there appear to be five around the Cognac area:
Not too far from Cognac is Pons with a pleasant dutch operated site just to the north of the town Moulin d'Averne. Good english spoken, restaurant. Pons itself has some interesting things to look at and has Le Clerc and Intermarche with cheap fuel.
