Hi All

We are preparing our van for our first trip away and wanted to know what you would all advise for washing the outside of the van with. Which cleaning agent should I use? What type of brush should I use and should I polish the outside afterwards to ward off any further muck?

Thanks in advance

Hi Magnus

I'm also interested in this thread. I have seen somewhere some sort of liquid that one uses without water to clean caravans and cars. It is supposed to prevent build of road dirt sticking to the caravan so easily keeping it looking good for longer. Has anyone tried it? We usually use a brush with a syphon hose dangled in a bucket and Mer detergent but wondered if the waterless method might be more user friendly especially as we have to try to clean the van at the storage site rather than at home.

I have in the past used "Muc-Off" which did a great job, particularly on the plastic surrounds dotted around the caravan. It can be used without water, but follow the instructions carefully. I wouldn't use it to clean a particularly dirty caravan though. Trapped dirt on the cloth is an ever present danger.

2.Bobby Dazzler.....which is put on like a rinse

and we never polish.

I have noticed that muc-off is being branded as caravan cleaner,

I bought a large bottle years ago it was then aimed at the cycle trade, it certainley used to clean the mucc off our sons byke,

not sure about caravans though do they really get that dirty.

I hose the van down, then use muc off in a spray and a soft brush for the bad areas such as the plastic and black streaks. then use fenwicks on a caravan brush to finish.

Looks new and never any hard scrubbing.

I have just heard about this substance last weekend.

I was told that it was advertised on one of the shopping channels, perhaps somebody could shed some light on it

Regards

Les
