Hi……………Can anyone advise?………We are regular visitors to France, but like a good many owners in the South West of England, ferry costs are becoming an issue.
To continue using our caravan we are looking into storage in France. Our preferred area is the Lot region, or Uzes near Avignon. Can anyone suggest a site for safe storage and the approx cost/year……………thankyou Andrew.

This has been brought up several times on forums ,the main concern though is whether you insurance will still cover your caravan while stored in france.I would get this sorted before you go ahead with booking storage sites

You can get insurance which will cover you whilst your caravan is stored in France, but it's down to specialist brokers. Towergate Baker did insurance, as (I think) do AXA - however, you'll have to shop around for something which suits your circumstances. There are storage sites listed on the Caravan Club website, if you're a member - and you can have a look here http://www.caravanninglinks.com/?goto=page&get=137&adStart=10.
LOT (from Pages Jaunes - Gardiennage de Caravanes)
Vergne Olivier Activité : gardiennage de caravanes, camping-cars
  • rte Salviac 46300 GOURDON mobile :.06 70 06 39

Looking on the same website (Pages Jaunes) for Uzes brings up quite a few, but none nearer than 35 kilometres:
  • Terris David [30.74km]
Activité : gardiennage de caravanes, camping-cars
    • rte Avignon 13570 BARBENTANE 04 90 15 01 25
There are quite a few to choose from in that area, though.
We've looked at places further south in the Languedoc. Beware, though, that some have a length restriction on vans - the French generally have quite tiddly little vans, compared to our monsters!
