caravan storage

hello everyone, can anyone tell me if cats litter is any good as an alternative to the crystals that comes with a dehumidifier somebody said we could use it in storage THANK YOU ALAN PORT TALBOT

Hi Christine & Alan

I wouldn't have thought that cat litter would readily absorb atmospheric moisture in the same way as the hydroscopic crystals but I'm not really sure.

Hi Christine & Alan! I use cat litter as opposed to the crystals in my van when in storage.Cat litter on its own will not attract moisture as it has contact absorbtion properites. Mix in a large handful of salt into the the litter to correct this as salt attracts moisture.Cost works out cheaper than crystals and last longer with the added bonus of no messy drip trays to empty. You will be suprised at the amount of moisture it attracts and absorbs.

I have used this method for years now without problems.I used 1 small tray in the bathroom/toilet.1 in the kitchen and 1 in the lounge area.

hope this helps

Lady C
