Hi

I hope someone may be able to help me out, I have purchased a used burstner but it is coming without a table. My question is does anyone know where I may be able to get a table from to match the cupboards ( cherry or alder ).

Has anyone used a fiamma island table leg in a caravan, the sort that motorhomes use with a socket set into the floor and a chrome tube. I like this idea because I could get a couple of tops knocked up and have a large table and a small coffee table to go on the tube.

Thanks Simon

Apart from the usual sources such as breakers and caravan spare parts Companies, you may wish to have a look at Reimo. They supply all sorts fo bits and pieces for motorhomes and so will also suit your van.

Thge other alternative is to forget the colour of the wood furniture and go for something like white. Many outfits do not have colour matched table tops, so you would not be out of line.

The single leg idea is quite common but unless it is a tight fit in the floor socket, it can wobble. You can use 2 legs on a large table top for more stability and just the single one for your coffee table.

Burstners probably had a free standing table as supplied and again you can get the metal frame for these and put any top on you like. This allows you to use it outside as well, although be careful as some of them are pretty heavy.

A lot depends on the floor construction.....

If you really want to fix one in you will have to put a support board of about 600mm x 600mm x 20mm underneath the floor & bolt the base of the table through to this to make it solid, the normal sandwich floor, will not take the side load of the table being lent or fallen against whilst just screwed down.

By fastening a substantial board underneath it will give the table a bigger & stronger footprint.

We had one at the rear of the Ace Award Nightstar but its not possible to say how the floor had been constructed inside the sandwich

They usually have a large collar on the top to spread the load

CAK tanks would advise but I would think it OK

You could bolt straight through if they advise its needed as suggested by Sproket

I would use pronged T nuts underneath to screw into
