Does anyone know how often the carbon water filter that is screwed onto the end of the pipe which goes into an aquaroll or similar water container should be changed on a 2007 Bailey Senator?

We put a new filter on a the beginning of the season and have found no problems. When we pack away at the end of each trip we make sure that we drain as much water out of the filter by shaking it - but that is all.

Leonard,

We have a 2007 Swift Conqueror 655 with the same type of filter. We were recommended to change it every 30 days.

As to how often you change it, depends on whether or not you drink the water. Our preference is to keep bottled water in the fridge, so filters are not changed so often.

Like John Douglas, we drink bottled water (often filled up at the site tap but not run through the caravan pipes) and we change the filter about once a year.

We had a whale aqua source clear water filter in the system that only supplied one tap, expensive to replace every year so took it out replaced it with plastic pipe as per the rest of the system.

Every time we took the van out when first turning this tap on we used to get a flush of blue water , a lot of vans do not have filters why the need always use water direct from the mains for drinking, tea coffee etc.

Thanks to you all for the information. I think I shall fit a new filter at the next service when the van will be two years old. I like many of you use bottled water kept in the fridge when abroad and mains water again kept in the fridge for drinking. I am sure my wife likes to use fresh water when rinsing the lettuce etc.

Leonard, make sure that you keep your old one and use that when you sterelise the system. The sterelising fluid ruins the carbon, once sterelised pop the new one back on.
