Hi All,
I'm looking for a bit of assistance regarding the Carver 3600stc gas heater I have in my mobile home.
Admittedly I'm pretty new to this but the fire worked fine first time out then on the second trip it did not work.
What I do know is that the gas supply to the fire itself is good but gas cannot be heard when the fire is connected and the knob at the top of the heater turned on.The pilot light on the burner is not igniting and I have tried giving it more than enough time to come through. Also the manual igniter is making all the right noises but not convinced that their is any spark from it.
Can you still obtain replacement igniters/safety valves or am I probably better replacing the fire due to its age.

All advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers Guys (and girls) :)

Hello Booboo.

Gary certainly now his stuff on these products, but just a few pointers. His web site also carries copies of several different heater instructions,I can't recall if he has the Carver 3600 listed.

When trying to ignite the heater have you remembered to turn the gas vale to the ignition position and push it down to manually prime the flame failure device. If you don't push the gas control knob down and keep it down while you operate the ignitor, then no gas comes through

The gas flow to the pilot burner is quite small so I doubt you would hear the gas flowing. The main burner will only operate when a flame has been established and the flame failure device has locked open
by the pilot burner.

If you have ever taken the front panel off the heater, then you may have dislodged the high tension ignitor cable. If this has not been refitted correctly the heater will not light.

How do you know the gas flow is ok to the heater?
