Carver 5500 fanmaster faulty

Hi guys I'm new to this. I have just purchased a van with a carver 5500 fanmaster.
The slider works and the fan comes on but no heat. Also I think the igniter for the gas doesn't work but should it still work on mains or battery power.?
Any help appreciated
 
Hello Andy.

The entire range of Carver f heaters ceased production in 2000, so yours will be at least 22 or more years old. When was it last professionally serviced?
 
On your behalf I just googled ‘Carver 5500 user instructions’ and was able to download or read the manual online for free. Hope this helps your dilemma!
