CARVER CASCADE GE HOT WATER ON ELECTRIC ISSUE

Hi,

Hope someone can help me here.

I recently bought a 1999 Elddis Hurricane XL caravan that is in great condition.

I can get lovely hot water through the taps when using the gas, but no hot water runs through when using electric. I have checked all the fuses and lights and everything is showing correctly.

I have left it for around an hour to try and warm up, but I get no hot water on electric at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's years ago that I had a cascade. Isn't there a reset button on the end of the unit?

Thanks for your reply. There is a reset button at the end (red). I have tried pressing it, but it doesnt really seem to press in. Not sure if it is faulty

Hello Steve,

If power is getting to the heater and its not heating then its most likely teh element has failed.

Replacements can be found, and its not a massively complex job to replace it, but do be certain you get the correct model of element.

If you are not confident about replacing it, you could do worse than finding a mobile caravan engineer.

Thanks for your reply. I have just tested the electric and it is getting to the heater so no worries on that front. I have managed to source a replacement element, doesnt look too hard to replace. Just hope I can get the element to come out of the one side, and that I dont have to take the whole heater out of the caravan.

IF you cant remove the element then as a gas connection is involved when the applaince has to be removed, then i must advise you should use a competent gas fitter to ensure the safety of the removal and teh reinstatement.
