Carver Fanmaster Warm Air Heater

Our fanmaster heater does not warm up any more. I'm wondering if the system has tripped out but can't find the reset flap/button. I've looked under the seat alongside the fire, I've taken the front of the fire off and without actually getting screwdrivers and removing the workings of the fire can't access anything else. I'm sure something like a reset switch is in a handy place but don't know where else to look - any ideas would be gratefully received.

Have you tried fitting a new battery to the ignition system.

AA size at the bottom left sidebehind a little flap

On ours the reset was on the back left side of the rear/side casinga bit down from the top, a sort of square indentation in the casing, just press on it.

It is difficult to find and does not feel like you are really pushing anything

I risk being slapped down for this but . . . .I had the same problem once. Had simply forgotten to switch the power supply to the unit on.

The casing is the metal that encloses the whole appliance. You need to access the hidden bits at the back by removing whatever is immediately above it....a drawer or the base of the wardrobe usually. Then follow Gary's pictures to find the reset.

Thanks Gary - I've found it and the heater now blows hot! Brilliant! It's a shame we're having to use the heater though, I think summer's over :-(

Thank you everyone for your contributions to my posting - I really appreciate your replies. These forums are excellent, for no matter what question is posted there's always someone that can help....and Mike - it wasnt a daft suggestion, it's something I have done in the past and wondered why there was no heat, luckily I realised my mistake before dismantling anything!
