Carver Trumatic heater

I have the carver trumatic heater in my van but its not working right.. it was working fine but been burning it a while its not right.. When its on full power there is not much heat coming off it, the flame sometimes goes out and its burning yellow (not sure if its ment to but i thought it burned blue) im supposed to be going away friday and dunno what to do.. help would be much appriciated.. thanks

First it should as you suspect burn blue, yellow lazy flames means the burner is obstructed or in some other way faulty. What's at fault is anyones guess at the moment, there are many models of your fire and it would help to know which, roof or floor flued and age of van also help.

At the end of the day though the likely conclusion is you need on the spot help from someone who knows, your local mobile caravan repair man is probably best

Thanks for your reply.. The heater flue goes up to the roof.. The van is an abi award nightstar, single axle, 1990 model I believe... and the heater is a carver trumatic SLP3002..

Thanks

As I suspected it will probably be the burner at fault, this requires the fire out of the van for service. removing is straight forward but repair and then replacement is not so easy.

I really would advise you get someone in to fix the fire and make sure it's then safe to use afterwards, trying to fix it yourself can very easily makes things worse and potentially dangerous!

Limit yourself to checking the air inlet under the van is clear and nothing is obstructing the flue vent on the roof
