cassette toilet hole in top

my thetford cassette toilet has a small round hole in the top.

t appears to be part of the system ,

the toilet works and there is no smell apart from usuall chemical,.

Any ideas what the hole which is for etc or is there a bung missing ,

its about one of the earlest 1990

its 8m approx accross

regards paul

Can't help with your problem, but by 'eck thats a big hole. How big is the toilet?

mel : ) : )

There is something missing that's for sure.At a guess it's the pressure valve. You should be able to replace it I would have thought. You certainly don't want an hole in it as the contents will escape when you carry it to the waste point !

Sounds like the vent hole on the old C2 model.

Go to this web site and download the "vent seal" PDF document;

There is a hole of about 10mm dia close to the button that turns the blade. At the bottom of this hole is a rubber vent seal that used to require regular hooking out and cleaning if I recall correctly.

Make a note of this useful website for all Thetford problems, there is a mine of useful info on it.
