Tugster, living in Dorset I tend not to use them as they are a bit close to home but one that I do go to is Crossways. I like it, others do not, as there is some train noise from the Weymouth to Waterloo line [but Clapham Junction it isn't].

It is built on an old quarry and there are nooks and crannies but some may not get much sun. The Frampton Arms pub at adjacent Moreton Station is very good and it is a cheap day return into Weymouth. It is not particularly close to the sea - half an hour by car to Weymouth, I can't think of a CC one in Dorset that is.

We stayed at Haycraft a few years ago and found it O.K.

Some of the pitches were a bit regimented (like the warden at the time),but we managed to get on the bit they called the `C.L` just inside the gate which we found more pleasant.

You`re not far from Swanage if you want a beach, but we prefered to walk to the sea down the path from Worth Matravers, a very pretty village that had easy parking and close to the site.
