That's it, I've booked every weekend on every site just in case I get the time to go, although I was outflanked by someone else on a couple of sites.

Of course I'll cancel the day before if I can't make it.......

I take it that your inflammatory comment is meant as a joke.

The problem is that if it leads to the usual arguments and recriminations it and any subsequent replies will be removed.

The relevance of the topic was to create light hearted banter to a problem that from time to time affects us all and having been a member of the CC for over 30 years, man and boy, thought it might provoke some amusing replies.

I am obviously wrong and the PC brigade has won again.

I fail to see what this has to do with Political Correctness. This topic has been done to death. And by March you really have missed the boat with this sort of "little joke".

Yes.Its not a problem unless we make it a problem.Loads of caravan sites out there!."Just like switching a light on when you enter a room-concentrate on the solutions rather than the difficulties" Best to stay lighthearted about everything.I really think arguments will put off new members.

Perhaps by mentioning 'the PC brigade 'C' means us. Surely not! ;0)

I gathered that you were being ironic C but unfortunately bitter past experience has shown that the difficulties reported by some CC members who have tried and failed to book their chosen break has led to some really serious forum arguments with members becoming abusive or leaving the forum.

It looks as though the CC has decided to address some of the alleged problems so hopefully the rancour will be a thing of the past. In the meantime my earlier post should be regarded as a stitch in time......

Diane, I can't understand your comments, does this mean because a topic has been raised it can't be raised again.

A caravan is only a box on wheels how many topics are there??? I think we would soon run out of things to say and be 'light-hearted' about.

I think Mr P is correct and replies can unfortunately cause usual arguments and recriminations and I think C is right in mentioning the topic, after all, many of us take our 'box on wheels' to these sites.

So stay chilled and enjoy our hobby, we've certainly spent enough on it. Be Happy.

The problem of making a posting like that stirs a lot of ill feeling as it has recently. I personally kept out of it but sadly it did cause one long standing member not to post anymore and she even took her goat with her.

I also feel strongly about those who book up and then cancel if the weathers not right.

I fail to see what political correctness has got to do with it. There is no one more anti PC than me and it's got me into a lot of scrapes on this forum in the past. Infact I'm anti anything this government is responsible for, especially the Equality and Human Rights Commission. The only decent thing they've done in 12 years is to ban hunting ... heh! heh! heh!

C you must have heard of the infamous annual december bun fight?

I gave up trying years ago to get onto Chatsworth and Rowntree Park.

Forget it my friend and use the wonderful world of CLs and some of the independents.

We don't want you losing your goat too!

Cheers

C

We have used GrinLow at Buxton many a time. It's not far from Chatsworth House and all the other lovely Derbyshire hot spots. Facilities and Wardens are excellent as is the dog walking. Miles of paths woods etc.

Cheers

Had a wonderful weekend first week in March at Chatsworth must have missed Julia Bradbury off country file filming by a couple of days, even got a service pitch, if you read my post last month a few places available if you rang up on spec.

One thing if you look on the CC Web and find its full try ringing, you may be lucky and get one, done that a few times at Hawes and got on, bet there is loads this Easter if you ring tomorrow.

I've managed to book a week at Chatsworth in September but then again I was given privilege by my good friend Tarquin, Duke of Devonshire, who I sit next to in the Upper House :O)
