There ia an article in today's Daily Mail that a council is not now installing CCTV cameras in a no-go area as they are infringing human rights. If this is the case is there now a clear case for the wasters of this country to get off in court if evidence from these cameras are used against them. Alternatively could there now be an argument for all CCTV cameras to be removed on human rights grounds, including mobile and fixed speed cameras?

If it means catching the morons they can install a camera every few yards as far as I'm concerned. Make DNA samples compulsory while we are at it. I've nothing to hide and the most I can get done for is picking my nose and throwing the bogies in the street littering ... hehheh!

I am all for CCTV cameras if they help keep the streets safer etc. etc. but yesterday I had an example of just how much 'they' know about us now.
I returned two plant pots to our local garden centre which were unsuitable and at the till I was asked for my name and postcode.
On the screen appeared the details of my original purchase, biscuits, plant pots, etc. I think this is going a tad too far for a local garden centre - Big Brother is already here.

In all honesty I'm not bothered what they know or see about me as long as it allows all respectable people to go about their legitimate business without fear of being robbed, raped, murdered etc.
The only place I would object to cctv is in my bedroom incase it gives Gordy ideas about taxing my nuptials. Saying that he wouldn't get as much as he would years ago :O)

Seriously though, this is just going to be another excuse for lawyers to protect the scummys and make a fortune from the tax payer at the same time.Anybody convicted of a criminal offence that attracts a custodial sentence ought to have a microchip compulsorily emmbeded under their skin so that their whereabouts could be checked at all times.

We recently had our own CCTV fitted by wifes nephew, can't rely on the police so had a couple of discrete cameras and some detectors and lights put in.
I do agree Lord B. although I,m not sure it is working. At present my Caravan Club Card is being investigated as recently it has been fraudulently used. picked up by a team 'watching' expenditure, so yes, it does work both ways. It just seems that we are being regulated by so much these days.
If we weren't a nation of criminals, we wouldn't need speed cameras, CCTV or Big Brother watching us. It's about time we developed a social consciousness if we continue to break the rules ourselves we then cannot complain when others do.
