Wife and I like to play golf when we are away but not on posh courses where you have to wear a suit!!!! The problem is the courses we like don't appear in the golf books or tourist brochures. Par 3s are fine and 9 hole municipals. (A fiver a round is about right.) In May,June we are going to Northumberland and the east Scottish borders. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Dont play myself but there is a golf course at Messingham near Scunthorpe,I know the address doesnt sound that appealing but its rural.Website is grangepark.com
