My usual route to Spain (Blanes) towing of course is Eurotunnel, Orleans then A71 and A75 to Beziers and join A9 to Spain. But after looking a t a map I was wondering whether it might be cheaper to use the route A20 to Limoges-Toulouse then A62-A61 to Narbonne and then join A9. The second route via Toulouse looks slightly longer mileage wise but without the steep gradients so saving on fuel plus not having to pay the heavy toll charge on the Millua bridge. I wondered overall if it would be cheaper.

Can only suggest you try www.viamichelin.com where you can try routes with and without tolls, choose the option of car + caravan and various other useful things. You can get a print of the route with the actual signs you will see on the road, speed camera warnigns etc.
If you have not used it before, you may find it a bit frustrating initially but worth the effort.
There is another site www.mappy.com which is quite good and also www.autoroutes.fr which may be useful. You can avoid the toll at Milleau fairly easily by following the 'old' road through the edge of the town and there is a good site just off this route (Trois Riverers) for an overnight. There is much less HGV traffic on this route since the bridge has opened.
