hi all, when I come to buy another caravan how do I check for outstanding HP? With a car it’s just HPI, Does CRIS check for outstanding finance as well as theft?

CRIS is, I believe operated by HPI. You can get a CRIS check which will provide you with a history check on any pre-owned touring caravan, by checking:-
  • If a caravan has been reported as stolen
  • If it has been recorded with outstanding finance
  • If it has been written off by an insurance company
  • If it is registered to a keeper (if you have their name, they can confirm this)

If buying privately the check is vital to try and avoid caravans stolen or on HP as basically they have no right to sell and the real owners can snatch them back at anytime.
