I would like to know if anyone has stayed at Cheddar Bridge Touring Park, If so what did you think of it and can you recommend anywhere good to eat (locally).

Thanking you in advance.

I can't comment on the site as I have never stayed there as I only live about a mile away.

The campsite is just on the outskirts of the village about a 1/4 of mile from the centre of the village and 1/2 a mile walk from the bottom of the gorge. It is adjacent to the Caravan Club site.

The first pub located in the village centre is the Bath Arms which I wouldn't recommend for food or drink although apparently it does do a good cheeseboard.

The other pubs are located nearer the gorge. The Riverside Inn is a large pub with two bars and a restuarant / conservatory with a large outside eating area with Childrens Play area. I have eaten here a lot and can recommend it although it can get very busy at peak times

Other pubs which serve food are The Galleries (not eaten here) or the White Hart (Typical pub menu but very good) both slightly further up the gorge from the Riverside.

Other options are two very good indian restaurants and a chinese.

There are also the typical array of tea shops and cafes associated with a tourist area.

The other pub to recommend is the Rodney Stoke Inn which would be about a 3 mile drive from the campsite on the road to Wells. Very good food, large menu and I would recommend booking

Hope this helps

Richard

Sorry forgot to add if you want a really special meal for a special occasion try Franks Restaurant located between the Galleries and the White Hart.

Excellent food specialising in French / Modern Cuisine.
