Hi Jo-anne, We were at Cheddar CC last year in August, the site is quite small as far as Caravan Club sites go only 67 pitches probably split fairly evenly between hardstandings and grass, the site is fairly flat and open and when we were there the trees and shrubs were still in there infancy and the grass pitches were not being used as the grass was still new.

A brand new toilet and shower block was immaculate and easily coped with the number of pitches in use at the time

The site is an easy 10 min walk from cheddar village and no more than a 20min walk to the gorge and all the attractions of the show caves etc, plenty of local pubs and cafes during the day however in the gorge they tended to close early evening.

The village has a fairly large supermarket hence the site shop was not particularly wee stocked.

The warden last year was a bit of a tyrant and was very fond of hand written notices of do's and don'ts in a very bold blue felt tip stuck in prominent places.

Hope this of some use to you, but copy write applies !!!!.

Hi Jo-anne, we prefer the c&cc site near Priddy. Not a large site but friendly, they do there own fresh bread in mornings and has a farm shop nearby that sell great steaks for the BBQ among other things. There are some good walks too and a couple of pubs just a short walk away.

Seen the site at Easter plants and shrubs still very small so the site is a bit open and clinical. looks much the same as the recent cc makeover sites. As Jasper said the wordens were a bit ott last year my parents went and had a load of abuse cus they arrived at 11.50 (before the 12 noon deadline) and also the guy was inspecting the awnings for lifting of ground sheets even on breathable ones.

We staid at the cheddar bridge caravan site which is very nice but adults only, its next door to the cc site.

Kevin
