If you are members of the Caravan Club (or whatever its name is now) they have sites which would suit.

The Brighton site is just outside the city and the Bournemouth one is a bit outside but easily doable by car.

we always head to Swanage every summer. We stay at Ulwell Cottage. The dog walk is out of the back of the site, onto Round Down, where you can walk all the way into Corfe - quite a dog walk!
The play area is a mahoosive field for ball games etc, plus a slide at the top, and swings etc at the bottom. There is also a pool, pub/restaurant and shop. We've been going for 9 years and the kids are now teens, who still love it.

CrazyGuider, couple of questions if you don't mind!:

1) is it walking sidtance to the beach / is it dog friendly?
2) did you mobile phone work there (I might have to work a few days so may need an internet connection via my mobile as worst case scenario)
Thanks again, looks really nice

Ullwell is a nice site it must be said with nice walks straight off the site up into the hills and not too far down into Swanage. there is a swimming pool and club house which it is worth checking if there is anything being laid on for children during your stay.
My one down side is the lack of any super markets near to the site leaving you at the mercy of massively overpriced convenience stores or the site shop which is also not well priced. they do a full service pitch as well if you want that. there was also dog mess on the play area but you can't blame the site for that. the kids loved the play area.

HI there.
It's about a mile and half walk to the nearest beach, but there is a regular bus service on the main road at the side of the playing field, which runs between Swanage and Bournemouth.
In town there's a Budgeons and Co-op store.
The dog mess on the play area, is usually a result of badgers, not dogs! We've seen them more than once.
I agree the shop is a tad expensive, but so are most site shops.
Every Tuesday there is entertainment for kids in the conservatory.
We don't have a dog, but there are always lots there, on leads.
Yes we get mobile reception there.
Hope this helps.

Ulwell Cottage is a nice site, but gets full in school holidays, we tend to use it off season.

You could pitch up on one of several sites along the Swanage heritage railway including Haycraft CC / camc / wotever (we did a long weekend there at the end of the easter holidays), the C&CC site at Corfe Castle, Norden Farm, Woodhyde Campsite, and others on this link:

Using the railway negates the car park fees that soon mount up.

More around Swanage, here:

including the well respected Toms Field.

For Bournemouth, these are available:

Plus loads in the New Forest.

Brighton are here:

ukcampsites is a great resource.
