We recently purchased an Elldis Autoquest 155 and wondered what the best awning would be to fit, noticed that Fiamma do a lot, are there any others that people recommend ?

Hi Budgie We have had both the Fiamma & Omnistor models. Too be fair we found very little difference between them, but the Omnistor just eased in front on quality reflected by slighty higher pricing.
No experience of 1) Dometic electric models, but they have much higher cost
2) Fiamma also do a "Carastor" as a cheaper range but usually seen on Caravans, not Motorhomes.

It's a fiamma 45s fitted to ours. I can't really say much more other than having had some advice on here the first thing I bought was a tie down kit. In practice it's probably more practical to think of it as a sun shade- and one you probably put away when it's windy

We now have an Omnistore which is fitted recessed into our Autotrail, we use it mainly as a 'Rain cover', to keep us dry while I feed the dogs, and clean them up after a walk. Wouldn't be without one. ALWAYS use secure Straps held with strong Pegs. In case a sudden wind blows up.

These are cheap and very strong.
We do take it down if it is windy overnight, as the flapping keeps us awake, otherwise it stays up,Whatever.
ps Always keep it 'Tilted' to allow the rain to Run off, Water is very heavy. Ray

I am actually looking forward to renovate my home and also want to install awnings for the outside doors and canopies for the windows. Moreover, I want to know more about awnings uk. I have heard about Fiamma and omnistor, but had no idea about it.
Well, I was going to say that Fiamma & Omnistor are the best companies to buy awnings. Initially I planned to install awning in the patio and to the outside doors as well. But later on I had only installed the awnings and canopies for the windows.
