Christmas and New Year on the continent

We would like to spend Christmas and New Year on the continent, ideally snow, have one 13 year old girl. Does anyone know of any rallies or good sites. Also if you have any tips about winter camping we have the right gas ect.

Hi Caroline

I don't know if I will be very helpful but here goes!

You need propane gas (the red one) as it doesn't freeze in cold weather

It's preferable to wrap your water container up in an old sleeping bag or old coat and stand on polystyrene to help stop freezing

Keep some water in the van overnight in extremely cold conditions so you can at least have a nice cup of tea in the mornings

External vents (I think) don't have to be removed in the cold weather

Hi Caroline

Yes, we caravan all year round, last xmas we went to Chatsworth in Derbyshire, it was quite mild, but our first ever outing it snowed a blizzard all week, got the car and the van stuck and came home early as the weather was awful!
