Personally, with a dog and two kids, I would opt for the Cirencester park. At the very top of the site is a large field allocated for kids to play in. Grass with a cycle riding area around the parimeter. There is also a boules pitch. Right in the next field is the dog walk which is fantastic.

You also have the option of walking through Cirencester Park, from the entrance to the club site, into the small town. Great again for kids and dogs.

Hope this helps.

You have not been hearing stories about wardens have you!!!

Seriously, I would also suggest the Cirencester site as it has easier access to the town. Burford is a nice site but apart from the wild life park next door its a bit further out of town.

We're booked in at the Cirencester CC site for Easter so good to here about the play area and dog walks.

Anyone know of any indoor acivity centres near? Little likes things like ball pits (well to be honest I do too!!!!!!) or swimming pools?

(out of interest the site opens on Easter Sunday apparently yet they were fully booked for the Sunday so we had to opt to arrive on Easter Monday. Odd or what?)

Roger, I live near Ciren and the swimming pool is out of commission due to the summer floods. You might try the pool at Bourton-on-the-Water which is about 15 miles along the Foss Way towards Stow. There is also a childrend play den (or something) which may have a ball pit???? Not sure don't have small children now.

Hi Jo-anne

We've been to cirencester site quite a bit. As others have said the it has a large dog walk and also cirencester park it'self.

Some of the pitches that back onto the field by the cricket ground are a bit steep and you may need extra thingy's under steadies.

If you visit Stow on the Wold there is a dog friendly pub in the square, does very nice meals. Also your dog can play in the river at Burton on the Water, there is also a bird park here.

The animal park mentioned earier did allow dogs when we visited last.

Of the two I'd go to Cirencester. But if you go in term time or sometimes after, there may be disco's etc at the adjacent college, so if you don't like noise pitch well down the site.

We visited Cirencester Park at the beginning of this month. Site still good but, be warned! There is no longer any access to the Park from the site, you have to traipse half way down the main road before you can get in!!!
