Hi All

Does anyone know if a guide to these exists. We much prefer small out of the way , quiet, uncommercialised sites with nothing more than room to breath, electric hookups and a nice view so these type of sites really suit us. However we are finding it difficult to get the relevant info from the Caravan Europe guide. If anyone has any info, we would be pleased to hear it.

You could try this: http://www.campinglaforet.com/gb.html

For some reason, the link doesn't always work, but if you try again it finds it.

There are 'Camping a la Ferme' sites - some are small, some are larger, but none are particularly commercialised. There are also 'Aires Naturelle' which are usually smaller still. The website 'Bienvenue a la Ferme'

http://www.bienvenue-a-la-ferme.com/en/
allows you to search for farms offering camping pitches.

Le Guide Officiel....... offered on the website www.campingfrance.com, published by Motopresse, gives details of ALL 11,000 odd French campsites, including Aire Naturelles - but is only available in French. You can also buy it from the larger hypermarket type French supermarkets with a good book section.

We are the same as you, I just put into Google small CL Type campsites in France, it came up with quite a few. We found a lovely one in the Loire, Camping Cormier, and some in the Charente Region. Most are English owned If you dont mind this.

Salut

Thanks for all the suggestions. We have looked at all these and have shortlisted three 5/6 pitch sites from the 'Bienvenue a la Ferme' website which is really terrific, not that the other suggestions didn't offer some attractive little sites as well. We are looking forward to two or three weeks in Burgundy next spring where I can put into practice what I pickup at summer school in France this summer.

A Bientot

Denise
