Some of the excuses I am given for extra hook ups is that they can be used for rallies run by exempted organizations. Even though club rules say a rally should be on a separate field. Its a difficult job as we all want to encourage more Camping and Caravaning but some just take the mickey.

In fairness, as I put in my original post, the extra hook ups could be to allow pitches to recover after an awning has been put up and left damaged grass.

Possibly !!!!

Yes that's possible, but after 15 years of the job you tend to get a bit suspicious.I do try to give them a bit of slack depending on the risk as we have enough to do with just the unlicensed sites or overcrowding on the licensed ones and if I report them to the clubs they may only come back to us for planning permission and licensing anyway or not as is the case of some sites running illegally.Anyway that's enough of work thoughts, time to plan my next caravanning trip.

I'm beginning to wish I had never started this thread....

All this nonsense about the site owners not making any money with only 5 vans is hogwash....SOME of em are just greedy....If you book to go to a CL which is only supposed to have 5 vans then surely this is what you should get when you arrive, the main idea being that you go to such sites for peace and quiet....

I just dont understand some of the comments being made...The CL owners open the sites with a clear mind and surely do their homework re costs etc based on 5 vans....like I say, SOME of them are being greedy!!!.... and contravening Local Authority bye-laws....

Not necessarily so Charlie. The reason that I'm using the cs this time is that I want to be fairly close to a music festival that I'm going to over the August Bank Holiday.

If it's peaceful and quiet that's fine but I'm not really bothered how many units are there as long as they don't pitch too close.
